Therapy with a health psychologist is an important resource for patients and loved ones living with the impact of a serious or life limiting illness.

My practice is able to provide a range of therapy services to meet individual needs over time and and across different phases of an illness.

Some people may have a clear sense of why they are reaching out to me and the therapy services they want and need. Others may have a general sense that they would benefit from help and support, but feel less clear about their specific needs or what will be most helpful to meet them.

Together, we will take the time to listen to and understand your needs and hopes in reaching out for help, and consider the best options to support you in meeting them.

Therapy

Traditional therapy is usually what comes to mind when most people think of psychotherapy or counseling. It offers protected space and specialized emotional support in a framework that is flexibly shaped by your needs, hopes, and goals.

Advance Care Planning Conversations

When we hear “advance care planning conversations” most people think, often with trepidation, of hospitals and medical visits rather than therapy.

In truth, the specific goals, decisions, and transitions in our medical care also deeply involve our emotions, values, and relationships.

Advance care planning conversations in my practice provide the emotional support to explore what matters most with guidance, without pressure, and with the time and care it deserves.

Dignity Therapy

Dignity Therapy is a brief structured therapy that gives you an opportunity to speak about the things that are important to you, things you want to share with the people you are closest to, and things you want and need to say about your life.

The final product is a written document that is yours to keep and share as you wish.
